HomeWord Bound: An Event of Literary Proportions
HomeWord Bound: An Event of Literary Proportions is an annual fundraiser to benefit Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH), which includes dinner, a silent auction, author signings and books available for purchase. Award-winning author and internationally acclaimed musician Willy Vlautin tops the list of Northwest writers who will be on hand at CPAH's HomeWord Bound fundraiser on April 5, 6-9 p.m., at the Oregon Zoo. Featured speaker Willy Vlautin is a world-renowned author, musician, and singer-songwriter. Two of his novels, “Lean on Pete” and “The Motel Life,” were made into movies, and he has won the Oregon Book Award twice. Additional guest authors scheduled to attend include: Stevan Allred, Mohamed Asem, David & Alexandra Brown, Courtenay Hameister, April Henry, Karen Karbo, Eric Kimmel, Bart King, John Larison, Peter Nathaniel Malae, Anis Mojgani, Dionisia Morales, Rebecca Morris, Zulema Renee Summerfield, and Sallie Tisdale. Several authors are finalists for or previous winners of Oregon Book Awards. Community Partners for Affordable Housing creates and maintains safe, healthy and sustainable housing with services for diverse residents, including families, seniors, and people with disabilities in Washington County and SW Portland. HomeWord Bound tickets are $100, a table of 10 for $1,000; reservations required. The evening includes dinner, a silent auction, and author signings with books available for purchase.
