Gov't Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) Committee Meeting
Monthly meeting of the Tigard Chamber GAPP Committee. The Government Affairs & Public Policy committee’s responsibility within the Tigard Chamber is several fold:
- Be informed, track and review relevant city, county and state initiatives, bills, measures, legislation, proposals and more that effect the local economy and business activity/livelihood
- Determine/vote on initiative, bill, or measure positions using the Tigard Chamber Business Advocacy Agenda and Legislative Policy Guide as filters. As appropriate craft explanatory statements on positions and communicate them broadly through various means. to include but not limited to:
- Communicate the impact or benefit of the above to key stakeholders including chamber businesses, city, county and state officials
- When appropriate encourage member participation in elected official communication on above to include but not limited to
- Coordinate and hold forums on issues impacting the business community when appropriate
