About Us

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency + Referral (BVER) is a woman-owned and operated specialty and emergency veterinary hospital serving pets, families, and referral partners in Portland, Oregon, and beyond.

It was founded by friends and colleagues, Dr. Lisa Mahlum and Dr. Megan Steele, who partnered to build a veterinary hospital rooted in core values that foster a culturally inclusive environment. In addition, they wanted to offer a medically driven workplace that allows veterinary professionals to thrive and make a difference in patients’ lives, pet owners, and the veterinary community.

The BVER team is committed to staying abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and working collaboratively when attending to your pet to ensure they get the most optimal care necessary. In addition, BVER strives to be a valued partner and creator of positive change in the Portland community by providing the best care to our employees, referral partners, patients, and clients.
